Say I Do Forever With a Personal Diamond

Showing off the engagement ring to family and friends is part of the exciting whirlwind of an engagement. As any bride can tell you, the first thing everyone wants to see once they hear you're engaged is, "the ring". Nowadays, couples tend to look for the most unique engagement ring that speaks of their eternal love for each other.

While diamonds are still a popular choice for engagement rings, many couples are now selecting laboratory grown diamonds instead of earth mined. Not only are these man made diamonds a more practical economic value, but an eco-friendly one as well.

Additionally, technology has helped in the advancement of laboratory grown diamonds in a very special way. Due to scientific discoveries, diamonds can be created using signature carbon (hair). To the delight of brides, these man made diamonds are indeed, real diamonds and are also a true representation of the couples love and commitment

With DNA2Diamonds, couples can create a diamond that is guaranteed to be the most unique, one-of-a-kind diamond available.

Here's how: DNA2Diamonds creates personal diamonds from a lock of the brides hair and one from the groom. When the locks are combined, added to a diamond seed and placed under the same high heat and temperatures it takes to form earth mined diamonds, a genuine and personal diamond is created. No two DNA2Diamonds are alike because they contain the essence of your love, together forever in that precious stone.

While a diamond engagement ring is possibly the most memorable piece of jewelry a person can own, there is no substitute for a diamond created especially for you. Creating a genuine diamond from signature carbon, a couple will have a unique story to tell when presenting the ring. More importantly, they will have an engagement diamond that truly symbolizes their new life together, forever.

A DNA2Diamond is more than just another diamond.

Christmas Proposal Ideas

1. Play Santa and be sure to tell her what Santa wants for Christmas.... for her to be your wife!
2. Give her a candy cane with a 'Will you marry me?' note attached.
3. Wrap a "Will You Marry Me" note in box after box, ending with a big box with a big bow.
4. Give her 5 wrapped boxes with a different word (will you marry me) in each box and the ring in the last box. Make sure she opens them in the correct order!
5. Spell it out on the roof (or side of your house) with Christmas lights. She'll be surprised to see your decorations this year!
6. Place strands of Christmas lights on your lawn spelling out "Will you marry me?" so that she sees it when she drives up.
7. Many cities decorate with lights for the holiday season as well as offer carriage rides through parks, the city center, etc. Take your sweetie on a carriage ride under the holiday lights on a cold night. You'll be able to snuggle together on a blanket in a romantic environment when you propose.
8. Have a step stool ready and ask her to put the star on the top of the tree. When she climbs up, have the ring on the limbs by the top for her to find. When she finds it, grab her hand and ask her to marry you.
9. Buy a personalized Christmas ornament, such as the globe ornaments that have a saying on a piece of paper resting on some festive glitter inside. Have the message in the ornament say "Will you marry me?". Wrap it up like you would any Christmas present and let your sweetie open it on Christmas day.

Is New Year's Eve a Good Day to Propose?

Sure! It's a great time for a proposal. It's the beginning of all things new and bright. It's also a time of hope and resolution to do better than ever. Proposing on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day are wonderful ways to start the New Year. Plus -- if she says yes, you'll always remember your proposal date!

Many couples shop for a ring together. So, once the proposal is done -- it's time to shop for a ring. As one of the most important pieces of jewelry you'll ever buy, shouldn't it be sentimental too? How about one of a kind? How about one that is created just for the two of you?

DNA2Diamonds creates genuine diamonds from hair. Get a quick haircut, send the locks to DNA2Diamonds and in a couple weeks you'll receive the most priceless and precious loose diamond, cut to your specifications, and ready to be set into the setting of your choice.

Your relationship is unique. Your engagement is special. Your new life together is forever. Shouldn't your diamond be all of those things too?

For the most unique engagement ring, consider a DNA2Diamond.

What Not to Do When Proposing

* Back-peddle -- say, things like, "I know you'll probably say no, but...." or "I'm probably not the first one to ask you, and you're probably going to dash my hopes, but..."

* Take her for granted. Or even appear to take her for granted.

* Say you're not ready to pick a wedding date. A proposal without a date is no good. You don't have to pick a date within the same hour you propose, but you should be prepared to pick a wedding date within the first week of the accepted proposal.

* Make a proposal contingent on something else -- like, if you can just adjust your custody schedule with your kids, I'd like to marry you. Or else, if we can agree not to see your parents, then I'd like to marry you.

What to do When Proposing

* You only plan to propose once, so make it memorable.

* Plan early and think creatively.

* Pick a location that holds a special place in your relationship.

* Be detail-oriented from the lighting to the mood.

* Remember that the first thing everyone will ask is 'How did he propose?'.

* Give her a moment to share for a lifetime.

Selecting the Ring

An engagement ring represents your love and commitment to her, but she's the one wearing it for the rest of her life, so make she she loves it! What better way then to let her select her ideal, yet unique engagement ring?

Unique Engagement Rings From Hair

An engagement ring symbolizes a couples unique relationship and commitment to each other. New technology allows for the creation of the most personal and unique diamond engagement ring by using locks of hair from the bride and groom.

Many couples prefer unique engagement rings because they are considered the best representation of the couple and their new life together. Gone from the norm are the plain bands and colorless solitary settings. Brides and grooms are moving towards non-conventional settings, cuts and even colors.

In light of this evolving trend, a scientific process that has been around since the fifties is coming to the forefront. This particular process can provide a really unique way to create a diamond that could forever change engagement diamonds. Using this methodology, not only can scientists create genuine diamonds up to two carats in size in a laboratory setting, but they can also alter the chemical composition to be able to create gems in almost any color. And finally, but possibly the most unique factor is that the diamond that is the result of this process originates from hair.

To start the process, when the bride and groom each get a haircut, they can send the trimmings to a diamond creation laboratory. The sample will then placed under high temperatures and high heat, replicating the natural growth cycle of an earth mined diamond. The only difference is the source of carbon. In nature, the carbon is taken from the earth, in a man made custom diamond lab, it's taken from the personal carbon source.

These hair diamonds can be grown to the engaged couple's exact specifications of color and size. When the growth phase is complete, the diamond can be cut, polished and mounted in a setting according to the couple's wishes.

In approximately 70 days, depending on the carat size desired, the hair has been completely converted to a genuine, flawless diamond. No two will be alike because they contain the essence of a couples love, together forever in a precious stone.

With the ability to create a diamond from hair, a whole new level of personalization has opened up affording couples the most unique of engagement rings.

The History of Engagement Rings

The earliest uses of engagement rings can be attributed to not only the ancient Greeks, but also the Romans, and Egyptians. Betrothal rings were meant to symbolize a woman's connection to the man who would become her husband, though the arrangement was more of a business proposition than a romantic union. Romans used iron rings to symbolize strength and permanence, and the Greeks are credited with the initial idea to wear the ring on the fourth finger of the left hand, where the "vena amoris" or vein of love was supposed to connect to the heart.

During the ninth century, Pope Nicolas I endorsed the idea of engagement rings by making a gold ring a betrothal requirement to demonstrate the groom's wealth and ability to care for a wife. In 1215, Pope Innocent III made a similar declaration though the rings could consist of different metals, including silver and iron, and the rings were meant to be worn during a longer engagement period.

The first recorded diamond engagement ring was given to Mary of Burgundy by her betrothed, Archduke Maximillian of Austria, in 1477. Few details are known about the ring itself, but diamonds were considered at the time to have magical powers relative to love, purity, and fidelity - the same characteristics they symbolize today.

In the late 19th century, extensive diamond deposits were discovered in Africa, effectively making the gems more widely available and cheaper for the general public to purchase. Because of the sudden abundance of diamonds, designs became more elaborate and intricate, and more brides-to-be began to receive diamond engagement rings.

For every couple looking for the most unique engagement ring that speaks of their eternal love for each other, there is no substitute for a personal diamond created just for them.

Unique Engagement Rings Now Available in White

DNA2Diamonds has expanded it's fancy color diamond line with the additional of the white created diamond. Now available, the white diamond is a genuine diamond identical to earth mined yet it contains the personal carbon of you, a loved one or pet.

"Traditional brides and others are already inquiring about our new white diamonds," said Tom Bischoff, President of DNA2Diamonds.

DNA2Diamonds are genuine, certified diamonds created by turning hair into diamonds within 70 days or less. DNA2Diamonds can be created in various cuts and colors of stunning red, brilliant yellow-green, warm cognac, dazzling blue and now traditional white.

Unlike earth-mined gems and other lab grown diamonds, DNA2Diamonds are truly personal. They begin with the signature carbon from hair. This signature carbon is added to a diamond seed in our laboratory and exposed to the same process of extreme heat and pressure that happens deep below the earth’s crust.

In nature, it takes millennia to create a diamond; in their laboratory, it takes just a few weeks to create a DNA2Diamond that is certified to be physically, chemically and optically identical to earth-mined diamonds. And the process is environmentally-friendly and conflict-free.

While gemologically equivalent to earth-mined diamonds, their personal lab grown diamonds are more beautiful, more meaningful and more precious – because they contain forever the essence of those you love. They are truly the most personal diamonds in the world.

"With the addition of our white diamond, requests for special, unique and personal diamonds have increased," said Bischoff. "Consumers seek DNA2Diamonds to celebrate all of life's special moments -- anniversaries, engagements, births of children, and memorial diamonds as well."

Dad, Will You Walk me Down the Isle?

A Special Story About a DNA2Diamond...

My father passed away in January of 2008. That day and the days, months and years that followed, I knew I lost a lot of things. I lost the man who taught me the importance of hard work. The right way to paint a house. The best way to tell a joke. I also lost the one person who was so much like me and understood me that it pains me to think I'll never be able to share a special moment with him again. What I would give to just be able to tell him about a great accomplishment or to just share a funny story.

When I think about the things that my Dad has missed in my life over the past few years it brings tears to my eyes. I bought a foreclosed home, gutted it and totally remodeled it with my boyfriend. Everyday at the new house I'd remark how wonderful it would be if Dad could see the new floors going in, how the kitchen was coming together, or even at the garden I planted. Somehow, I hope that he can see it and that he is watching over me.

Having recently become engaged, I am thankful that my Dad was able to meet my boyfriend before he passed away. I think it was important for my Dad to know that I would be ok. He'd want to know that, although I think I don't need it, I would have someone to take care of me. I guess that's just how Dad's are. So, in the last few months of my father's life, my boyfriend got to know my Dad and I could tell, my Dad liked him.

After our engagement, I was thrilled that I finally found the one man who embodied many of the qualities I loved about my father. My fiancé can build and fix anything. He is a hard worker and he loves me. What is better than that? But, even in all of my happiness of our engagement, one thing lingers in my mind. My Dad won't be there to walk me down the isle.

For weeks I would think about my wedding day and wonder how something so great could bring me such pain knowing Dad wouldn't be there. But then I discovered a company in Pennsylvania called DNA2Diamonds. I am so thankful that I did.

DNA2Diamonds can create a genuine diamond from either a lock of hair or cremated ashes. At first my finance and I thought it would be wonderful to combine a lock of his hair and a lock of my hair to make our diamond. But, then he came up with the best and most wonderful idea. He suggested to create my diamond for my engagement ring from my Dad's ashes. Knowing how important it would have been to have my Dad with me not only on my special day, but with me every day, my fiancé's wonderful suggestion really touched me. Once my diamond is complete, it will be set in my engagement ring so my Dad can still walk with me down the aisle.

Although my Dad won't be there in person, he will be there in spirit and will be right there with me forever in my diamond engagement ring. My ring will be the most precious and priceless possession I own. It will forever represent the bond my fiancé and I have in life and the connection I have with my Dad, even after he's gone.

Having a part of the man who gave me life in the symbol of the love from the man who is now the most important one in my life.
